Every year people and animals fall through iced-over ponds, lakes, streams and rivers. Unfortunately, in many cases, human life is lost trying to save an animal that has fallen through the ice. This first responder ice rescue training is a technician level class that will help responders and rescuers know how to affect a rescue without becoming a victim themselves.
Techniques used for human and animal rescue from cold or ice covered water
Instruction in how to use normally available and specialized ice rescue equipment
Techniques specific to animal rescue – taught, performed and practiced
This two-day ice rescue class is designed for first responders, fire and rescue workers, animal control officers, humane officers, animal welfare workers, law enforcement officers, veterinary professionals and anyone who may be called to assist animals in trouble.
