Locate, Assess, Stabilize, Transport (LAST)

November 14, 2020 ‐ Conifer, CO

This course provides disaster responders, livestock haulers, humane or animal control officers with an awareness level training in emergency assessment and stabilization of injured animals. Students will be instructed on how to assess an animal’s injuries utilizing a 2-minute evaluation and how to relay that information to the veterinarian. We will cover assessment, triage, stabilization and movement of animals we may encounter during a disaster.

This course also includes vehicle and trailer safety with a trailer driving skills test.  A 2-hour Zoom meeting at 8:00am MST will satisfy classroom requirements and then head to the RTD Park and Ride for your vehicle and trailer inspection and driving skills test.  Must arrive by 3:00pm with your trailer in order to complete the course.
